Progressive Gears was established in October 2015 to facilitate the release of the charity CD 'Voices for Hospices'. This featured artists from the known to the unknown within the field of progressive rock.
Thanks to the attention received from the involvement of Steve Hackett and his donation of a brand new track, the project was very successful and only a few copies remain.
When some of those appearing on the disc asked that PGR look after their interests, the label became a fully-fledged entity in early 2016.
The roster now has artists from Brazil, Canada and the UK (July 2016).
